Your Internet Protocol (IP) address is used to gather
broad demographic information. Marine University logs IP addresses and
browser types for systems administration purposes. These logs are analyzed
to constantly improve the value of the materials available on the Affiliated
Web Sites. Your IP address also helps us to diagnose problems with our
server and to administer the Web Site. IP addresses do not provide us
with any identifiable personal information. This means your session
will be tracked, but you will remain anonymous to us.

This site contains links to sites other than the Web Sites
with which we have no affiliation. We are not responsible for the privacy
practices, or the content, of such other Web sites.
Our Affiliated Sites Include:
Submitting Personal Information
You can submit information to the Affiliated Web Sites
in several places. Contact information collected on the Affiliated Web
Sites is used to send responses or information requested by our customers.
It is not our practice to share this information with other organizations.
The ‘Registration’ form requires information
so that an original account can be created for each individual who wishes
to take the Boater101 course. Personal information required includes
fields of demographic information as well as personal information that
create unique combinations by which an individual can be positively
identified and access to their account confirmed.
The ‘Payment’ form requires financial information (such as credit card
numbers), as well as email addresses/postal mailing addresses and personal
information related to billing for services rendered. It is not our
practice to share this information with other organizations. Security
measures and encryption are built into our Web Sites in an effort to
preserve the safety of your information, but we cannot guarantee that
these protective measures will be effective.
The ‘eMail List’ form requires the submission of an email address. The
email address provided will be included in our database upon subscription.
Should you request information from us to be sent to you via email,
we will take reasonable steps to maintain your information confidentially
and we will allow you to unsubscribe from such services.
Contests, Submissions, and Message Board forms, in which you send the
original materials to us, may require email addresses/postal mail addresses
and other personal information. Contest entries or submissions by people
not eligible for the contest winnings will not be considered or posted
to the Web Sites. Eligibility may be determined by age, location or
other factors as explained in the contest rules. Prizes distributed
to contest winners cannot be resold or distributed for any type of compensation.
Submitting Pictures, Graphics, or Other Information to Post to Web Sites
Once a picture, graphic or other information is posted to the Web Sites
it is open to public use. Although we do not allow web users to download
any graphic material on any of the Web Sites without our express written
consent, there are no security measures in place outside of our disclaimer.
It is therefore possible that users can download any material posted
to the Web Sites and use it for their own uses.
Site Security
The Web Sites have security measures in place in an effort
to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under
our control. Information supplied to us by you is stored on secure servers
with appropriate encryption and firewall security measures in our endeavor
to keep that information secure. We caution you that these security
measures may not be adequate and that security can and may be breached
at any time. We cannot therefore accept any responsibility to maintain
your information in confidence; we can only assure you that we will
not release it to the public intentionally.
